Biography

Nacio: el 25 de marzo de 1977 en Edgar Ramírez es un actor venezolano, nacido en la ciudad de Caracas, que se ha destacado en diversos medios, especialmente cine y televisión.
Ramírez es hijo de un militar, y por esta razón pasó su infancia en múltiples países. Por esta razón puede hablar con fluidez inglés, alemán, italiano y francés, además de su lengua madre, el español. Estudió Comunicación Social en la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, de Caracas, donde comenzó a explorar su faceta de actor trabajando en diversos cortometrajes estudiantiles.

Antes de la Actuación

En el año 2000, antes de dedicarse como actor a tiempo completo, Edgar fue el director ejecutivo de una campaña titulada Dale al Voto, patrocinada por una ONG venezolana, que buscaba fomentar los valores democráticos en la juventud venezolana.

Guillermo Arriaga le ofreció el papel de Ramiro (el hermano de Gael García Bernal) en la cinta Amores Perros.

Sus amigos lo llaman Edgar “Catire” (palabra venezolana de origen cumanagoto para designar a las personas rubias)

Edgar Ramirez (born March 25, 1977) is a Venezuelan actor best known for his role as Javier, a man forced to assassinate the President in the movie Vantage Point.Ramirez was born in San Cristobal, Venezuela, the son of a military attaché. Due to his father’s career, he moved around frequently and as a result can speak fluent French, Spanish, German, English and Italian. He graduated with a degree in journalism, specializing in political communications and initially intended on becoming a diplomat. He lived for 2 years in Barinas, a small town located in the southwest of Venezuela. He has made his home in such diverse countries as Austria, Canada, Colombia, Italy and Mexico.In 2000, before turning to acting full time, Ramirez was the executive director of Dale Al Voto (a Venezuelan NGO similar to Rock The Vote). In this high-budgeted Sony Pictures political thriller, Ramirez joined an all-star international cast including Dennis Quaid, Matthew Fox, William Hurt, Forrest Whitaker, Eduardo Noriega and Ayelet Zurer.Upcoming is Cyrano Fernandez, with Ramirez in the title role. This independent production was directed by Alberto Arvelo and is based on the French play Cyrano de Bergerac. In 2007, Ramirez appeared in The Bourne Ultimatum, playing Paz, “the asset” tracking down Jason Bourne.
