El director de la nueva cinta colombiana Saluda al Diablo de mi parte, Juan Felipe Orozco, confirmó que será el actor Edgar Ramírez, la figura latina más destacada en Hollywood en la actualidad, quien protagonice la cinta, pues por compromisos previos, Marlon Moreno tuvo que declinar la oferta.
A Edgar Ramírez se le reconoce en Colombia por su interpretación del asesino que pone en aprietos a Matt Damon, en El Ultimátum; o como Javier, en Justo en la Mira, quien para salvar la vida de su hermano secuestrado, acepta asesinar al presidente de los Estados Unidos durante su visita a España.
Sin embargo, su carrera ascendente en la meca del cine también lo ha llevado a interpretar diversos y exitosos roles y a obtener premios tan destacados como el otorgado a finales del pasado año por Hollywood Life Magazine Award, como Nuevo Actor, en reconocimiento a su trabajo histriónico.
Edgar se dejó seducir por un guión cargado de adrenalina, que le apuesta al género de acción, el cual ha sido poco explotado en Colombia y por un director que, con sólo su ópera prima, logró captar la atención de Hollywood y de Universal Estudios, con la que ya firmó contrato para el “remake” de Al final del Espectro, el cual comenzará rodaje a comienzos del 2009, en la ciudad de Los Ángeles
Otra cuota extranjera es el peruano Salvador del Solar y por Colombia Carolina Gómez, Ricardo Vélez, Ángela Vergara, Juan Carlos Vargas y Patrick Delmas, entre otros. Saluda al Diablo de mi parte, se rodará en Bogotá a partir del próximo 21 de Julio.
