Cyrano Fernández arrasó
con los Premios Municipales de Largometraje
Con un jurado calificador conformado por Olegario Barrera, Alexis Méndez Giner, Iván Zambrano y Javier Sarabia Mariche, la taquillera película venezolana Cyrano Fernández se alzó como la gran ganadora de la edición 2008 de los Premios Municipales de Largometraje, otorgados por el Concejo del Municipio Libertador de Caracas. Estos galardones son considerados de los más prestigiosos del país y son los de más larga data en la historia del cine nacional.
Los renglones en los cuales la cinta se llevó la distinción corresponden a Mejor Película, Mejor Dirección (Alberto Arvelo), Mejor Actor (Edgar Ramírez), Mejor Montaje (Paco Belllot), Mejor Sonido (Rosa María Oliart). Adicionalmente la película ganó una mención honorífica por el trabajo de fotografía de Cesary Javorsky y otra por el guión, otorgada a su director Alberto Arvelo. Un total de 7 galardones fueron entregados a Cyrano Fernández el pasado jueves 9 de octubre en la sede de la Cinemateca Nacional por representantes de la Comisión Permanente de Cultura.
El largometraje inspirado en el clásico Cyrano de Bergerac, del poeta y dramaturgo francés Edmond Rostand, es una co-producción venezolano-española, cuyo guión escrito por Alberto Arvelo, conserva las características del triángulo amoroso y las características de su protagonista: un hombre resuelto, contradictorio e intenso, que calza en cualquier urbe de América Latina.
Cyrano Fernández cuenta con un elenco de primera línea que encabeza el talentoso actor venezolano Edgar Ramírez en el rol de “Cyrano”, acompañado de Pastor Oviedo, Jessika Grau, Gledys Ibarra, Ximo Solano y Rafael Uribe.
Edgar Ramírez no pudo asistir a la premiación, por compromisos previos contraídos con los organizadores de la primera edición del Festival de Cine Nacional de Margarita, que se realiza actualmente en la Isla y que se extenderá hasta el próximo 15 de octubre. Allí participa Cyrano Fernández junto a una muestra de más de 40 filmes nacionales e internacionales, al igual que lo hará próximamente en la VI Edición del Festival del Cine Venezolano de Mérida, donde también se realizará la esperada segunda edición del Maratón de Nacional de Cine Átomo.
Tras obtener galardones en el Festival de Cine de Kuala Lumpur (Malasia) y en el Festival de Málaga (España), película Cyrano Fernández sigue ganando espacios en nuestro país y en distintas localidades del mundo. En el mes de noviembre la cinta participará en Selección Oficial del Festival de Amiens (Francia).

Cyrano Fernandez won 7 Awards Municipal Feature Film
